ReNEW Manufacturing Solutions is excited to announce we are now AS9100 Certified, giving you even more confidence in our aviation and aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
See how our AS9100 Certification can help you!

In October 2024, ReNEW expanded our operations with the acquisition of Stillwater Machining in Troy, Ohio. Stillwater Machining brings 66 years of experience in machining and fabrication to our customers. The shop will add 70,000 square feet and 61 employees to the ReNEW Manufacturing Solutions family of shops.

Stillwater Machining and the AS9100 Certification

With its AS9100 Certification, Stillwater Machining has fabricated and machined components used for the aerospace and aviation industry, including:

  • Transport carts
  • Load test fixtures
  • Shipping containers
  • Parts for assembly/disassembly of aircraft engines
  • Other tools associated with engine support

Stillwater Machining can also produce other tools needed for aircraft engine support. Its work has been trusted by General Electric, Pratt and Whitney, General Dynamics, and McDonnell-Douglas. They’ve even had parts travel to space as a part of the space shuttle.

Stillwater also offers other capabilities that bolster the existing services of ReNew Manufacturing Solutions, including machining, assembly, resistance welding, inspection, and engineering and design.

It also serves other industries: automotive, energy, and communications.

The acquisition of Stillwater Machining expands the ReNEW Manufacturing Solutions network to four (4) locations across the United States. This will allow us to expand our capabilities and get you the parts you need in the least amount of time, energy, and expense.

For example, if one of our locations encounters a backlog, we’ll transfer your project to another location so there’s no delay. Or if you want to use a shop with an AS9100 Certification, you now have that option.

What is the AS9100 Certification?

The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) developed the AS9100 Certification to provide quality assurance for the aviation, defense, and space industries.

It includes general quality management system guidelines. But it also includes aviation-specific instructions for developing, producing, and distributing industry-specific parts.

It’s a certification process that requires a significant investment of time and money. Machine shops have to apply and pay for an AS9100 Certification. They have to pass inspections, implement processes, and have specific machines and tools on hand.

The investment is worth it because they’re able to earn more trust from customers.

It’s not required that a machine shop serving the aerospace and aviation industry have an AS9100 Certification. However, the IAQG recommends it.

It enables shops — like Stillwater Machining — to provide more industry-specific knowledge, training, and products to their customers.
